(pencil study)

Traditionally, such pencil studies are recognized to be  very valuable sources of information for any portrait painter in preparations for oil portraits.

Regardless of the age of the portrait subject,

it is completed entirely from life within only 30 min.

It allows the artist to get a greater sense of the sitter's individuality through the art medium,

and in the direct communication.

These studies are known to be very common in the portrait procedures of the Great Masters of the past.
